Stephen Boatright Bio

Stephen is a nationally syndicated entertainment photographer, graphic designer and founder of IKONIK: Artist Propaganda, a one-stop creative agency dedicated to serving artists through the development and creation of all forms of visual branding, from packaging and poster design to photography, merch, web design and video. He has shot and designed for clients such as MTV, NBC/Lorne Michaels, Lewis Black (Comedy Central), Warner Bros, Columbia, Jive, and numerous independent artists. As a photographer, he is syndicated by PictureGroup Agency, founded by former Getty executive Frank Micelotta, and industry veteran Paul Melcher (named one of the 50 most important people in photography by American Photo Magazine).

In a world of scripted “reality” and pop banality, Stephen founded IKONIK to demonstrate that genuine, honest quality is not anathema to either success or message. We can worship, we can serve and we can love through quality. To gently paraphrase Francis Schaeffer, the Arts and Sciences are not peripheral in the Christian Life. Our endeavors to create statements of art, whether traditionally beautiful images or honest depictions of the harsher truths of our human experience, are themselves acts of worship, regardless of J.P.M.’s. As a Body, however, we’ve unfortunately become widely known in the Modern Age for doing a pretty awful job at that. But we are blessed to be in a time when the industry is changing, and like the glory days of the Old West or Old Hollywood, we get to write new rules, to create new expectations, and to love and serve the people in new ways.
